NRA Basic Pistol Course

 

This is an 8-hour introductory course perfect for beginners. If you have little to no experience with a firearm, this class is perfect for you! This course consists of 3/4 day classroom and 1/4 day range. This course covers the basic skills needed to safely handle, load, unload, carry, and fire most common pistols and revolvers. This course also takes you through nomenclature, proper maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and safe storage of a firearm. 

 

This course is intended for the first time handgun owner and is highly recommended before purchasing a firearm. This course meets or exceeds the requirements of the NRA Basic Pistol Course. 

 

Required Equipment:

Pistol or Revolver

2 Magazines/4 Speed Loaders*

Eye and Ear Protection

Hat or Cap with bill

Weather Appropriate Clothing

Closed-Toed Shoes or Boots

200 Rounds of Ammunition (minimum)

NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home

 

This is an 8-hour course that teaches the basic knowledge of firearms and the different aspects of how to accomplish personal defense in the home using a pistol or revolver. The different aspects are: How to operate and store a firearm safely, the mental preparation needed, how to develop defensive shooting skills, different strategies, mindset for home and personal safety, self-defense and the law pertaining to self-defense, selecting a firearm to be used for personal defense within the home and the different required accessories for protection inside the home. In addition to the fundamentals, students will also experience close quarter tactics such as; low light conditions, use of cover, and tactical movement. This is a self-defense course offered to responsible citizens, armed professionals, law enforcement, and govt agencies. 

 

This is an 8 hour, intermediate course that meets or exceeds the requirements of NRA's Personal Protection Inside the Home Course.

Flashlight extra batteries

Eye and Ear Protection

Hat or Cap with bill

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home

 

This is a 2 day, intermediate-course intended for those with both basic working knowledge as well as hands-on experience with firearms. This course will provide proper training and skill development necessary in order to safely and effectively carry a concealed firearm for self-defense purposes. The skills learned will provide a solid foundation regarding carrying a concealed firearm and general self-defense involving firearms. This course will combine basic knowledge with more intensive training, which will elevate your level of comfort and safety when working with a handgun. This is a self-defense course offered to responsible citizens, armed professionals, law enforcement, and government agencies.

 

*Note: Basic Pistol/Personal Protection Inside the Home must be completed before registering for this class.

 

**This course is not for beginners. This course is recommended only for those who have basic knowledge and experience that plan on carrying a concealed firearm. This course meets or exceeds the requirements of the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course.
